Water supply lines

Critical item

Per IPC/UPC, water supply piping must be properly supported, sized, and tested. Copper pipes require proper soldering; PEX requires approved fittings. Supply pressure at fixtures should be 40-80 psi per IPC 604.

Drain, waste, and vent (DWV) system

Critical item

Per IPC Chapter 7, drain pipes must maintain proper slope (1/4" per foot for pipes 3" and smaller, 1/8" per foot for 4" and larger). All fixtures must be properly vented per IPC Chapter 9. Cleanouts required per IPC 708.

Fixture installation

Per IPC Chapter 4, all plumbing fixtures must be installed per manufacturer specifications and connected with approved fittings. Toilets must be set on a stable, level flange. Faucets must have proper hot/cold orientation.
